How MCF 2023 graduate Jovana Ljutovac moved from intern to Financial Analyst at Kvantum Capital — and what she leaned on most from the program.

Jovana Ljutovac joined Kvantum Capital Partners as an intern in July 2024, three months before completing her MCF coursework. By October she was full-time Financial Analyst, working on M&A transactions across IT, distribution, pharma, and FMCG.

The work

"Most of what I do is valuation and transaction modelling — DCF, LBO, comparable transactions, debt structures. The MCF coursework gave me the financial-modelling foundation, but what I lean on most day-to-day is the Python for handling source data and the statistics sequence for reasoning about uncertainty in projections."

Jovana's analytical and problem-solving skills — honed by the programming and mathematics sequence at MCF — have enabled her to learn quickly and contribute significantly in a very short period. > — Dan Mutadić, Managing Director, Kvantum Capital Partners

Advice for current students

"Take the Python sequence seriously. You can compensate for weak finance knowledge with effort. You can't fake comfort with code — and almost every deal we touch involves wrestling with messy spreadsheets at some point."
