The Master in Computational Finance (MCF) program at the School of Computing, Union University, Belgrade is committed to ensuring that our website at https://mcf.raf.edu.rs (the “Website”) is accessible to people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
1. Conformance Status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.
The Website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the standard; see Section 4 for known limitations.
This statement applies to the entire MCF Website at https://mcf.raf.edu.rs and all subpages.
2. Accessibility Features
We have implemented the following measures to support accessibility:
Visual design:
- Color contrast meets WCAG AA standards (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- We do not rely on color alone to convey information
Keyboard navigation:
- All interactive elements are keyboard accessible
- Focus indicators are visible for keyboard users
- Logical tab order through the page
Semantic structure:
- Proper heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3) on each page
- Landmark regions (header, navigation, main, footer)
- Skip-to-content link for keyboard and screen reader users
Images and media:
- All informational images include alt text
- Decorative images are marked as such for screen readers
- Embedded videos include captions or transcripts where available
Forms:
- All form fields have associated labels
- Required fields are clearly marked
- Error messages are descriptive and linked to the relevant field
- Form submission status is communicated to assistive technologies
Compatibility:
- The Website is tested with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
- The Website is designed to work with common screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver)
Responsive design:
- The Website adapts to different screen sizes (mobile, tablet, desktop)
- Content reflows without horizontal scrolling at 320px width
3. Standards Referenced
In developing and maintaining the Website, we reference the following standards:
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)
- EN 301 549 V3.2.1 - European accessibility requirements for ICT products and services
- Council of Europe European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) - applicable as of June 2025 for EU-facing digital services
4. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some content on the Website may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are actively working to address the following known limitations:
- Video content: Some embedded video testimonials do not yet have full captions or audio descriptions. We are working with content owners to add these.
- PDF documents: Some legacy PDF downloads (e.g., the Festival of Computational Finance 2025 brochure) may not be fully tagged for screen reader accessibility. Updated, accessible versions are planned.
- Third-party embedded content: Content embedded from third parties (e.g., Vimeo, YouTube, social media feeds) is subject to the accessibility practices of those providers and may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA.
If you encounter any accessibility barriers not listed above, please let us know - see Section 6.
5. Assistive Technology Compatibility
The Website has been designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers: NVDA (latest), JAWS (latest), VoiceOver (latest)
- Browsers: Latest two versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge
- Operating systems: Windows 10/11, macOS, iOS 17+, Android 13+
- Voice control: Native browser/OS voice control features
If you use assistive technology not listed above and encounter problems, please contact us so we can investigate.
6. Feedback and Contact
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the MCF Website. If you encounter any accessibility barriers, have suggestions for improvement, or need information in an alternative format, please contact us:
