23 years of pioneering quantitative and computational finance education in South East Europe.
From IMQF (2003) to MCF (2026), one continuous mission: educate the people who will reshape how finance works.
U.C. Berkeley 1997-2002
Prof. Urošević completes the PhD in Finance at the Haas School of Business. With his Berkeley peers, he decides to create a cutting-edge quantitative finance program in Belgrade.
2003 - IMQF founded
Prof. Branko Urošević founded the International Master in Quantitative Finance (IMQF) at the University of Belgrade - the first master's program in quantitative finance in Southeast Europe. The goal: build a pipeline of quantitative finance professionals and academics in a region that had no such programs.
17 years of cohorts
Over two decades, IMQF graduates filled important posts in Serbian financial industry and helped establish Serbian fintech and DeFi scene. They, also, spread across European and global financial institutions and fintechs in New York, Zurich, Frankfurt, London, Honk Kong, Dubai. The advisory board grew alongside the program. Graduates became the advisors. Advisors hired graduates. The ecosystem became the moat.
2021 - Transition to MCF
MCF launches at the School of Computing, Union University (RAF), built on an integrative thesis: finance, programming (Python/R), and AI taught not as separate subjects but as a single discipline. Alongside the Master's degree, a Short-Cycle pathway opens the program to a broader pool of candidates.
Where we are now
First integrative master degree program of its kind in Europe. A developed network of partner institutions. Great regional and global demand for our graduates. Faculty teaching the way they work - in Belgrade, New York, London, Frankfurt, Vienna, Zug, or Zurich.
Continuity
Students don't just enroll in a world-class program - they join an ecosystem, an international network of top quality academics and professionals 23 years in the making.

"We're not training people to write Python scripts for finance. We're training people who think in code AND markets simultaneously - because that's where finance is going. The integrative thinking is the moat."
Three things 23 years got us.
Continuity
Same faculty network. Same advisory ecosystem. Same standard. Students join a network that has been compounding for 23 years.
Iteration
Each cohort sharpens what we teach. Curriculum reviewed annually with industry. The program in 2026 is unrecognisable from 2003 - and that's the point.
Local + Global
Built in Belgrade for international ambition. Hybrid format means borders are irrelevant. Graduates work in Vienna, Frankfurt, London, New York - and Belgrade.
